John W. Barger

Lecturer

I'm the author of a book of essays, The Elephant of Silence: Essays on Poetics and Cinema (LSU Press, 2024), and six books of poetry. Before joining Dartmouth's Institute for Writing and Rhetoric in 2023, I taught creative writing at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. My current research and teaching focus on poetry and poetics, film, and Romantic literature.
